Independent Agents Swamped By Recruitment Enquiries
Independent agents have reported a surge in recruitment enquiries from both Thomas Cook and TUI agents since TC announced redundancies and shop closures last week. Barrhead Travel has invited Thomas Cook staff, whose jobs are under threat, to start sending in their applications for jobs with the independent. Chairman Bill Munro said Barrhead is looking for staff for five new shops currently in the pipeline.

Tukulu Wines To Carry Ethical Seal
Fives wines from the Tukulu range will feature South Africa's recently introduced ethical seal. These are its 2009 Unwooded Syrah, 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2009 and 2010 Pinotage, 2011 Organic Chardonnay and 2012 Chenin Blanc. Granted by the Wine and Agricultural Industry Ethical Trade Association (WIETA) for complying with its code of good conduct, Tukulu is amongst the first to display the seal.

Fair Trade in Tourism South Africa (FTTSA) is in the process of revising its certification standard. The revision will not only ensure its continued alignment with the Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria (GSTC) but also enable the certification of a wider range of tourism products in the southern African region.
