New Summer Market In Cape Town

The market will run from 12h00 to 21h00 daily and will be divided into the following zones:

• The Family Coke Zone: In the Delville Wood Memorial Garden in front of the South African Museum

• The Bar and Wine Garden Party: In front of the National Gallery in the Delville Wood Memorial Garden; open on long weekends

• The Lifestyle and Eco Tent: On the Paddocks lawns; open on long weekends

• The Gourmet Food and Deli Zone: Under the Oak trees in the Paddocks

• A picnic zone in the public gardens

• 900m of market stalls, offering a mixture of street-style and artisanal goods. There will be stalls in the formal garden, running up Government Avenue, and right up to Orange Street opposite the Mount Nelson.

“Visitors to the market can combine festive season gift shopping with live entertainment, fun for children and families, and relax with a picnic in the shade of the garden. There will be a wide range of goods on offer from over 200 stalls,” continued Alderman Walker.
She said there would be parking and ablution facilities as well as a strong security presence.

Heritage institutions in the immediate area, including the Iziko South African Museum, the Iziko Planetarium, the South African Jewish Museum and the Cape Town Holocaust Centre, will be open to the public.
