Chris is our junior primate keeper...
and responsible for many of the photographs & short video clips displayed on our website. Chris occasionally conducts German and English guided tours and displays both a deep knowledge of the individual monkeys at the sanctuary as well as an excellent dry sense of humour. .
Blanche and Numfundu are our lovely receptionist at Monkeyland. Whether you would like tickets for a tour, combo tickets for Monkeyland and Birds of Eden, or plasters and mosquito spray, they will help you swiftly and with a smile.
Nancy is the proud manageress of our curio store...
and she prides herself in finding fun gift items with a difference. Anyone would enjoy a visit to her kingdom, and proceeds from the curio shop also go towards the monkeys’ welfare!
Martin is one of our charming French & English guides. He is extremely popular amongst the ladies and receives rave reviews in our guestbook.
Josef is a Xhosa and English guide...
from the local Kurland Village. He started at Monkeyland as a security guard, but was adamant about becoming a ranger and now has an almost encyclopaedic knowledge about key primate facts.
Niel is one of our popular English, Afrikaans & German speaking guides who can be very humorous when explaining monkey behaviour, but will be sure not to let you leave without fully understanding the threats to primates and their natural habitats
Lazare is our multi-lingual Congolese guide...
who speaks fluent English, French, Italian and Spanish. A particular favourite amongst the kids, Lazare is excellent at making you think deeply about the plight of primates while still allowing you to have a good giggle.
Sandrine is a full-time volunteer guide from France...
who conducts knowledgeable tours in both English and French. She has been with Monkeyland for a number of years and fell so much in love with the monkeys that she does not want to return to Europe!
Tania is our new English and Afrikaans guide...
who is passionate about monkeys and with her excellent sense of humour she will definitely be a favourite amongst Monkeyland visitors in no time.
Jean has been with Monkeyland for many years...
and conducts excellent tours in both French & English. His calm and collected manner earns him respect amongst tourists and monkeys alike.
A group of volunteers: Janine, Flo, Nadine & Stacey were some of the many volunteer guides that have kindly donated their time to Monkeyland.
There are usually around five volunteers here at any one time and tasks range from cage cleaning and tourist welcoming to guiding and marketing assistance. Click here to find out more
